Episode 65: A Fresh Bounty of Games

Rocky Linderman — Thu, 10 Mar 2016 17:11:14 +0000

Well, that was unexpected. Microsoft shut down Lionhead Studios and canceled Fable Legends while the game was in late-stage beta, Mass Effect: Andromeda was delayed until 2017, and No Man's Sky has a release date and alien races! If only there was a name we could give a news segment, something along the lines of maybe "Wunder" to keep with the podcast's theme, and maybe "News" to let listeners know what is about to be discussed... In other (not Wunder) news, Mark digs the new freebie for PS Plus members, GALAK-Z, Rockstar makes the claim that Twilight Princess had the best dungeon design of all Zeldas, Wyatt finished his Final Fantasy X crusade and is finally able to play The Division, and Destro is obsessed with the beautifully made farming/dating/slime killing simulator, Stardew Valley. Do video game farmers dream of pixelated sheep? (PSA Alert: Nintendo Selects Sale is going on now! Snag Pikmin 3 on the cheap while you can!) Opening Track: "Hyrule Field Theme" from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Closing Track: "Journey of the Prairie King (Overworld)" from Stardew Valley

Episode 64: Leaping Into March

Rocky Linderman — Thu, 03 Mar 2016 16:36:31 +0000

Was Leap Day a friggin’ weird-ass day for you? Leap Day was a friggin’ weird-ass day for me, right down to the guy with the fur vest and fur satchel who said he saw Native American spirits in me (not even making that shit up). What better way to brings things back to normal than with some video games? This time around, after a brief hiatus brought on by jobs and a killer engagement party for the world’s favorite heart-throb podcast host, the boys bring it back with the good ole’ gaming question closest to our hearts--What are you playing these days? Rockstar tells a tale of frustration and woe from (arguably too many) hours playing Tearaway Unfolded, Wyatt recounts his time playing inal Fantasy X while waiting for The Division, and Destro returns to the School of Old by playing the HD remaster of Age of Empires II. Wolololololo!
